Next Mission - Feb 15-24, 2025
We will be working in the southern villages within the Alto Verapaz municipality and with our base in San Cristóbal Verapaz; a town with a population of ~21,000. San Cristóbal Verapaz is located approximately 29 km from Cobán, the capital of Alta Verapaz, and about 210 km from Guatemala City.
Average temperatures in February are nominally 55-75 F (lows / highs) and <2” rain (least amount of the year); though topography and elevation brings localized drizzle. Crops harvested include broccoli, coffee, cardamom, corn, and more.
Billy Monzón visits Midland - Sept. ‘24
We were fortunate to have Billy Monzón, our HELPS Guatemalan Community Development Coordinator, join us in Midland this past weekend; his first time in the USA. A reception for him was held at Blessed Sacrament Parish Center where he gave an overview of the Guatemala Stove Team Mission impact and thanked those present on behalf of all the Midland area community support.
A verbal invitation was shared in the area churches in the week’s prior to say THANKS to those who also weren’t able to attend.

Stove Team Picnic
with Billy Monzón
A Stove Team Mission picnic was held and we enjoyed sharing time with ~30 past and present volunteers. The weather was great, and the interaction was fabulous. Next up we’ll start gearing up for our next Mission Trip in February 2025.
