Our Story

Tom Tolton was the ‘Mustard Seed’ for our Midland Mission Team

Tom participated for two years as a volunteer with a Florida based HELPS mission team to the Mayan highlands. He answered the call to expand support for this mission concept by starting his own team from Midland, Michigan. Along with key support from Maureen Snyder, Greg Janoch and Jon Siddall, the first team from Midland went in 2014.

2024 was the 10th Midland team trip (missed in 2021 due to the pandemic)! Volunteers have all had a Midland connection - live(d) in Midland or know someone from Midland - and the most recent team was the largest at 24 volunteers.

God calls on us in unique ways and Tom has truly been a Mustard Seed for initiating the discipleship of our Midland-based Stove Team.

Breakfast in Antigua at end of Mission Trip

Greg Janoch, Maureen Snyder, and Tom Tolton (L-R) are 3 of our Midland-Based Team veterans enjoying breakfast in Antigua hotel at the end of the mission work week; in preparation for return to the states.

Fieldwork

We work in sub-groups of 3 volunteers along with 1-2 translators (to communicate from English to Spanish to Mayan dialect).
